Firing at Army camp in Kashmir's Shopian

The Shopian firing comes even as tension between India and Pakistan continues to simmer, especially along the Indo-Pak borders.

Gunshots were heard at an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian on Saturday evening. Police were alerted immediately, who retaliated and fired back.

The area in Nagbal village’s Imamsahib tehsil has been cordoned off.

According to ANI, sentry at Dachoo camp of 44 Rashtriya Rifles noticed suspicious movement and fired shots in the air.

Earlier it was reported that terrorists have attacked an Army camp in Shopian, however, no attack has been confirmed so far.

This comes even as tension between India and Pakistan continues to simmer, especially along the Indo-Pak borders.

On February 14, a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber carried out a devastating terror attack on a CRPF convoy, killing 40 CRPF personnel.
